Lovely evening

Last night, K (she's a Japanese post doc in my lab) and I got together for dinner and we settled in to watch Howl's Moving Castle. I know, I'm behind the times. Considering how much I enjoyed Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Service, you'd think that I'd have rushed out and seen it at first opportunity.
But you know what? I'm glad I watched it for the first time last night. K hadn't watched it either, because she'd been in the States doing some research when it'd been released back in Japan. So we both got to experience it for the first time together!
And wow! I loved it! It's enough to make you smile for no reason for days following. It's a great pickmeup!
Plus, it's awesome to watch it with K. K's sweet quiet smile makes you want to spend more time with her. Her English isn't as good, so it's good that we can watch Miyazaki in Japanese with English subtitles.
