Beautiful Monday.

Had a fantabulous time this weekend...sent off cousin on Thursday morning to pick up close friend Lisa from college (stretching partner on the fencing team) in the evening...*two trips to LAX in one day? Yeah. I know.*
< nostalgia >I just had such a great time this weekend...between a Girls' Night In on Friday, shopping on Saturday in Santa Monica (Lisa remains my most dangerous shopping partner...), watching Lisa set her foot for the very first time in the Pacific Ocean, margaritas at Amigo's...but really, it was just so much fun and I've really missed having Lisa around...she's really one of those friends who understands you down to the last insecurity...and you don't have to talk with her every day. (We can't...because we both suck at correspondence...) Some times, I just miss having people who know me that well here. Yes, I've been here a year. And I have Jeff...but...that knowledge that spans more than a few years....*sigh* < / nostalgia >
I was sad to see her go on Sunday. It'll be a while before I see her again and that makes me sad. But we had such a great time that I know once we see each other again, it'll be great.
Back to work...but I'm excited...there's a lot to do...and another visit around the corner...
margaretrose, aka Best Friend From College Who is Nearly a Year LATE on Her Promise to Visit, will be here in three weeks. There's a plane ticket somewhere in cyberspace that says so!!!
Happily in lab...and it's sunny! Have to be happy about that....
The labs are empty in the mornings...this is very wonderful to me. It's my favorite time of day in lab because I can play my music as loud as I want and dance around my bench without fear of an audience or being startled into dropping my expensive chemicals :p.
The A-Z meme...snagged from...everybody. :p

R - Religious affiliation: None.
S - Siblings: Brother Terry, who is 19 months younger than me.
T - Time you wake up: 6:30 am.
U - Unnatural hair colors you've worn: Never completely different, but I did have
margaretrose bleach a whole chunk of my hair and we attempted to dye it purple...it came out this pretty..firebally color that just plain looked odd.....

W - Worst habit: Being ON TIME.

Also - apple crisp - yum!

Date: 2005-01-17 09:57 pm (UTC)Hehe, I remember dying your hair. The color did turn out quite odd, I agree. And for some bizarre reason, you never asked me to try to dye your hair again.
It's hard to believe that I'm visiting you so soon. That means my thesis will be done by then, and all my possessions will be moved out of Boston, and I'll have my visa for Germany... Life is moving WAY too quickly right now.
Anyway, I have some Writing to do this afternoon before I work on my German.
