Alive and well.

I hope everybody's had a very excellent holiday! :)
WARNING: LONG ENTRY!! Really, only appropriate for the extremely curious or the extremely bored.
Holidays. Ha. I always come back from trips thinking, "What should I say?" And I've again ended up confused. Let's try to break it down.
December 22-25. Troy, MI. I arrived home and spent a few relaxing days with my family at home. My brother had gotten me season 10 of Friends, so my parents and I finished up the series in that time, among other things. Christmas Eve was really nice this year; my family stayed up playing Mah Jong and we finished the evening watching Bride & Prejudice.
December 25-27. Chicago, IL. On a last minute whim, my family drove down to Chicago to spend Christmas with some family friends. While in Chicago, I ended up at Millenium Park and checking out the weird fountain and the Bean. SHINY! Funny stuff: I didn't realize how long it's been since I've walked through a cold city decked out for Christmas. It felt really, really good.
December 27-29. Troy, MI. Back home for a few days for some more laziness and lots of football. Finished reading
tocketeuanchim's Love of Wolves and finally got her crit to her an hour and half before leaving for Los Angeles...
December 29-January 2. Las Vegas, NV. Flew back to Los Angeles and immediately embarked on road trip with Jeff to get to Las Vegas, where he had late holiday celebrations wiht his family (his two sisters live in Vegas) and I met up with college buddies (including
sansceo). I got to spend some quality time with the Jeffs, and I really just had a wonderful time with them. It was also really nice to see my college buddies again and catch up. This is the first time I've been to Vegas after turning 21, so it was fun to expeience another side of the city. :) No winnings to boast of, I'm sad to say.
In summary, a very fun and relaxing break and I'm glad I had it, because life is now really really annoying.
TO-DO LIST:
Get data before conference on January 22.
Pay new rent.
Move big stuff like furniture.
Send off late Christmas presents to
the_marchioness and my brother.
Prep for Chem 153 (I am TAing Advanced Inorganic Chemistry this term.)
Get data for conference January 22-26.
I woke up feeling pretty panicked. I'm trying to stay calm, but this bites. One thing at a time. BREATHE. There, better.
All in all, life's good, but busy. No time yet to catch up on the flist, but I hope you all had a great holiday, and happy new year, everybody!!
