All in all, not a bad day

Managed to:

• Clean the Mono-S column so that I can reliably purify my protein.
  
• Learn how to use the refractometer (not so hard, but oh so important for my next experiment)
  
• Book plane tickets to and from Michigan, where I'll be attending a conference...and seeing my folks. :)
  
• Push past the writer's block (with the help of the_marchioness)...1,080 words tonight!

Not bad at all.
