Totally awesome game tonight. Not only did the Dodgers dominate, they let Gagne pitch!
Wasn't a save situation; I was really worried they weren't going to let him pitch because of that; it made me feel all weird during the 7th and 8th innings because I wanted the Marlins to score the narrow the margin, and then I didn't want the Dodgers to score too much...*gah*
But they let him pitch anyway, though the score was 14-5.
And he was magnificent. No home runs like on Saturday: 2 Ks, and he caught the other fly out.
And I'm just so incredibly happy. It's silly, but I'm just so happy.
I'm only sad that I didn't get to see him get a save!
It was a great game. We went with 8 other friends, and there was a family of 5 sitting in front of us, the three boys (between ages 5 and 8) were adorable. One complely adored Jeff, and just watched him with wide eyes, and asked him ten bijillion questions. He even started poking at Jeff's shoes, and wanted to take a picture of Jeff. Jeff looked completely goofy in his Cardinals hat and his glasses and totally old and ratty T-shirt, and tried to get the kid to take pictures of the guys out on the field (i.e. "Jeff Kent...now there is a guy you want a picture of!") but the kid just loved him anyway. Jeff teased him and kidded around with him and they were just so great together. (I just love how he interacts with kids...he's going to be a great dad one day)
So all in all, a pretty fine evening :)
