Candidacy is on March 21. I'm getting more and more nervous as the day approaches. I've been typing away and working as hard as I can, but this is just so...gah. SO hard to say focused on writing my reports...

I have set up my new desk in my bedroom and am currently working from it. (I had avoided getting a desk since moving to this apartment: I wanted to keep my work at the lab...but really. Silly Crystal. Of course I need a desk in my room. I've never been without one before this apartment!) It's wonderful to work on my stuff in my room. Playing music without headphones on. It's better-lit than the dining room, and well, it's my space. My papers, file folders and textbooks are laid out in that strange "ordered clutter" configuation, and I don't have to worry about cleaning it up just to have a meal or to make sure my roommate doesn't get frustrated.

And I am happy to have my sanctuary again. I forgot how *at peace* I am with my own desk in my bedroom.

[livejournal.com profile] margaretrose left yesterday morning. She's now gone to Germany and I won't be seeing her for...*shudders* a long time. I don't want to think about it.

All right. Enough procrastinating. Back to the report!

Woot! Kick candidacy butt!

See, living with my brother has benefits: both the living room and my bedroom are considered "my space". Clutter? Mess? Stacks of various riff raff scattered wherever and whenever? Why, no problem :)

Oi, Margaret. It was super nice meeting her while she was here.

*hugs* Crystal, you're going to be fine! You're so smart. I truly believe you can do anything! :)

But, I can fully sympathize with the whole "feeling more and more nervous as the day approaches" thing, so *hug some more*

And I enjoyed "meeting" Margaret too. Even if it was by paper. ;)

You're going to visit.

You'll love it in Germany when you visit in the not-so-depressingly-distant future. I'm sure. Anyway, I have more packing to do. Flight in less than 48 hours!!!

I'm glad the desk is as wonderful as hoped. I'm sure it would have been even cooler if it were a bright orange oval with a scary, uncomfortable chair like the ones we saw in Ikea.

It was very cool to meet everyone when I was in CA, even if it did rain during most of my visit. I hope you people are drying out now that I've left the West Coast.

Packing books sucks.
