Oh! And...
...it'd slipped my mind to write about my wonderful experience on Sunday, meeting (again) with the Jane Austen Society of North America--Massachusetts.
The last time I'd attended a JASNA-Mass event, Margaret D and I were freshmen! Unfortunately, we got caught up in college life and never made it to another event. This all changed when I moved back. Having been successful in making JASNA a part of my life in LA, I knew I could do it here. So when I got an invite to celebrate The Good Lady's birthday on Sunday, I RSVPed promptly.
The celebration was lovely; they had readings of Jane Austen's letters from five different years, all around her birthday, and a lovely toast given by "Mrs. Bennet". We had champagne and birthday cake, and...
...THEY REMEMBERED ME AND MARGARET!! :D :D
I was given a hero's welcome, and taken back with enthusiastic hugs. :D It's been 9 years!!! Isn't that crazy?! I love Jane Austen readers. :D I'm back in the circle, and set up securely in the steering committee, which should be a wonderful fun non-science thing for me to do.
Anyhow...despite the rain, I woke up cheerful and energetic. I had an interesting result last night in lab, and I'm 90% done with my subgroup presentation.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JANE AUSTEN! (And
rford!! Heh, I'll always remember your birthday)

Wow. You guys are really memorable. Not that that should be surprising. And I say that in the best possible way. Of course. ;)
