So far, so good.
Picked my brother (and the three friends he invited along without my knowledge) last Tuesday. We packed five people, four pieces of luggage, and a number of backpacks in my beetle, which only fits four people. There was luggage sitting in other people's laps, people sitting in other people's laps, and no room to breathe whatsoever, but we did it. Managed to get through the whole thing (unexpected guests, one of which stayed overnight) all right and give a pretty decent group meeting on Wednesday. Also got good research done on Thursday and Friday.
Met up with
lelu,
enogitna, and Josh on Saturday in Redlands. Again, was a lame butt and forgot to bring a camera.
lelu, please share pics when you get the chance!! I hold a very interesting video (which I just watched...LOL!) hostage. I had a really great time checking out my very first Cost Plus World Market (where I discovered they stocked almost the entire line of Haribo candies), making fun of the injured-but-not-to-be-repressed
lelu, and meeting Antig and Josh. L and I also saw "March of the Penguins", which was awesome, not only because it's about penguins and penguins are great, but the documentary is, after all, shot in Antactica, and that made me feel literally cool, which is a nice break from this 90-100 degree (and humid(!?!?)) weather we've been having here.
Spent Sunday hiding from the world and watching baseball and reading romance novels/mysteries. Ahhhh...life can be so good.
I'm now getting some last results in preparation for the conference next week; J and I leave for San Diego on Wednesday (yaaay!)
I haven't blogged about my writing progress lately, and that's because, well, there's been none. Until last week, that is. I finally caved and gave myself a word count goal...7,000 words a week. It already did the trick for this past weekend; I got 1314 words down. I'd like to have 75k of "Emma Experiments" written for the PCG edit in October. And I'm holding myself to this goal so that I can get it done. I do feel misgivings because this is a third draft and I almost feel like I should be taking it slower right now, making sure everything is right, and not just written down. But BAH! I need progress!

If you're free now, some PCG's are in there & we're about to have a war.
